Language learning

My first language is English so I use English as a medium of communication and study English to be more comfortable in class. As the reader may have noticed I have often extended “ohm” time during the past few weeks because I am completing half term in my local school. I came up with a lasting solution and a sweet language learning system for the school I came to. The short term results have been promising and some students have improved a lot. So I will provide you with my found solution for my transition in my teaching. I know first hand how my slow conversions are through my practice. I already have six years of experience as a classroom teacher and the first few weeks have really started to make me realise I should have had a different approach, I will now present my detailed outline of the change. · Learning styles: With this change it will ensure all of the lessons focus on listening and speaking, which will suit all levels. One skill is slower, the other is faster and so on. I am also building out a teaching mode which will make my main stages learn faster by our turns. This means that I will have ten main stages of learning. This will also mean that I will have smaller lessons in places of fewer students. (This will help the classroom experience and impact of student learning, which is of the biggest importance to me. How can I better my teaching? This will ensure that as a teacher you can only have one standard structure in the classroom as all of your students should use one or more learning styles. Which means it will be possible to give the same lesson to everyone quickly, providing a dynamic feel in the class rather than a similar standard lesson repeated a lot of times. I have to admit that changing the situation is not easy, but I can honestly say the short term results are positive. I will see this long term. · Presentation: This is definitely one of the most difficult changes from my experience, which is why I am sorry to be different. What I am doing is changing a traditional system. Our present learning plans won’t be altered because we will still be in an Indian class so students from different ethnicities will learn and practice within a similar room. I really am hoping and hoping to help the students and the students will look forward to the change. · Breakdown of class length: This is another change. Our current hours begin at 3pm and I believe that our short term setting is much longer. This means that students will not be bored and, perhaps, learn faster if they are more time demanding. This should also help their mobility in the classroom which is important. · Creation of games: In my session, this can be anything. I will first look at my classroom exercises, that they could be related to language or that we are making fun of students. Once students are in a good mood and writing better, I’ll start with some fun (which my classroom exercises are already all about). I will ask students to make these games up and activities at home before we leave. Students will have a set number of hours to complete each game, during which they will chat to us about it. I will ask students to try out some of these free time activities to give them a little escape from the classroom. I will encourage them to give ideas of what a game could be. After that we will have a brainstorming session over lunch. I will ask everyone to give ideas of the games of new games and also set goals for each group. I will start by asking the students to give an individual performance of the objective. The ideal ones to do will give positive feedback from both students and members of staff. The achievements should be measured between the staff and students. I will then interview the students on their performance and expectations. I will ask students to share their favourite topics of the classroom and how the rest of the classes are doing, I will ask them to answer my questions separately and then use the answers to get a clear picture of the class. This will give the staff a great insight into the character of the students. I can then hopefully design the rest of the test to reinforce the performance. I will then rank the pupils between the two groups and get order out of the rankings. After this all the tests will be sent back to the teachers for judging. On average, five pairs of results will be recorded for each group to compare their achievement. The students will receive a personal rating of their overall performance. The feedback I will give them will be rating on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest. If a student improves a lot from their group performance, that means the classroom is getting better. This will see a positive bump in their rating. I will discuss their personal and their class scores with them, then analyse and assess the report card which they will be kept in a folder full of work sheets, videos and notes.
